Best of Tanzania and Uganda Safari Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala
Upon arrival, you will meet and greet with Engabi tours and travel representative who will welcome you to the pearl of Africa and transfer you to your lodge in Kampala for overnight and dinner. He/ She will also brief you about your upcoming safari activities on your 12 days Tanzania Migration and Uganda Gorillas Tour.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National park
After breakfast, you will start your transfer from Kampala at around 6:00 am and drive through the suburban areas of Kampala in the direction of Masindi, through Luwero. The drive takes 5 and half hours however breathtaking and will definitely offer you a taste of Uganda’s beautiful evergreen countryside.
Reach Murchison Falls Park and head to the top of the falls, being at the top of the falls is an amazing experience as you will watch the magnificent falls squeezing through the rocks in an 8m gorge. Take as many photos as you can. Later drive to the lodge, relax the whole evening, have dinner and an overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon Boat Cruise
After an early morning breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive with your guide in search of the ‘Big 5”. During the game drive you will be able to see very many animals such as lions, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, water bucks and birds among others.
From the game drive at around 11:40 am, you will drive back to the lodge, relax, freshen up and have lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise. Later you will go for the boat cruise on the River Nile where you will be able to take wonderful pictures of these powerful waterfalls on the great Nile, see large Elephant herds going to the river, crocodiles, buffaloes and antelopes, schools of hippos, various birds on the river banks and also on land.
You will get off at the bottom of the waterfalls for a guided 45 minutes hike along the sides of these robust waterfall – this is a route with history; actually Winston Churchill used this path to carry on his journey using boat through Uganda in the direction of Egypt plus Sudan . Your Driver-Guide will meet you at the top of the waterfalls and you will again cross by ferry to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer To Kibale National Park
After Breakfast you will exit the national park while viewing some wildlife as you start your journey back to Kibale National Park. You will have lunch en-route and arrive in time for check in and relaxation. You may also take part in the activities at the lodge. Dinner and overnight
Day 5 : Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up, have breakfast served and depart for Chimp tracking starting point for briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the jungle in search of the chimps and on finding them you will stay with them for a full 1 hour taking pictures and getting up close.
After the chimp tracking experience, you will transfer to Bwindi with lunch en-route in Mbarara and as you enjoy the countryside scenery, some of the most beautiful nature’s images all the way. Keep your cameras near you and our driver will definitely stop if you need him to so that you can capture that beautiful moment. Reach late in the evening in time to check in to your lodge, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Kigali
You will get up so early in the morning for breakfast and thereafter your driver will drive you to the Park briefing centres with your packed lunch. On reaching there by 7:30am you will be briefed about what to do and not to do while trekking after which you will be led by the ranger guides through the mist jungle.
Trekking usually takes between to 8 hours or even a full day based on the location of gorillas. When you see them, it will be a great and fun time as you watch them and only 1 hour is permitted to watch them. Also ensure you carry enough water with you, hats, sun glasses, rain coats, and non-flash cameras.
Later after the trek, your driver/guide will transfer you to Kigali City for relaxation, dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 7: Flight from Kigali to Arusha and Transfer to Tarangire National park
Depending on the Schedule of your flight, you will check out and Transfer to Kigali International Airport to catch your domestic flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. On arrival in Tanzania at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will meet with your driver/guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha Town for Overnight.
Day 8: Transfer to Tarangire National park and Game Drive
Today after breakfast, you will embark on a transfer to Tarangire national park where you will arrive in time to start your game drive, enjoy your picnic lunch as you continue with your game drive. This park has the largest concentration of over 3000 elephants in Tanzania. Later in the evening transfer to your lodge for Dinner and overnight
Day 9: Transfer to Serengeti National Park and Game Drive
After breakfast, leave Tarangire area driving through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti national park home to 3 million animals which is larger than any savannah protected area on earth. You will drive all the way to Central Area of Serengeti and on arrival you will check in to your room, enjoy the lunch and thereafter go for an Afternoon game drive returning to your accommodation late in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at your Lodge.
Day 10: Full Day Serengeti game drive
Today is without question one of the highlights of your safari. After a rich breakfast you will start your adventure a little earlier than usual. During a full day game drive, you will experience the Serengeti in its full glory today!
The Serengeti is one of Africa’s most complex and intact ecosystems. Therefore, you can look forward to countless plant species like the characteristic umbrella acacias and millions of mammals like zebras, elephants and antelopes. The Serengeti is also home to the “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard). In the evening you will return to your lodge where you will have a delicious dinner and overnight.
Day 11 : Transfer to Ngorongoro National park
Today after an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Ngorongoro National Conservation Area where you will arrive in time for a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater together with your guide. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest inactive volcanic crater in the world with an intact ecosystem. The Ngorongoro Crater was created by the collapse of a former volcanic mountain. The crater has a massive bottom of about 264 square kilometers (about 3 times the size of Paris) with a depth of over 600 meters.
During the ride in the crater floor you will see again the breathtaking variety of Africa’s wilderness. African elephants, buffalos, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, lions and dozens of other species await you. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 12 : Transfer to Arusha City or Kilimanjaro International Airport depending on your flight schedule.
After a heavy breakfast, you will transfer to Arusha town or Kilimanjaro international airport to catch your onward flight depending on your flight schedule.
