8 Days Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be met by the representative of Engabi Tour and Travel for a meet and greet. He will welcome you to the safari capital of Tanzania and drive you to your choice of hotel for your dinner and overnight. At your hotel he will brief you about your upcoming safari activities for a few minutes. In case you do not get a flight to Kilimanjaro and need to fly to Nairobi we can arrange your transfer to Arusha by road transfer via Namanga border.
Day 2: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation area and wildlife viewing in the Crater
After an early breakfast you will transfer to Ngorongoro and on arrival you will straight away go for registration at the Loduare Main Gate after which you will descend into the Crater and spend the whole day viewing wildlife at the crater floor with picnic lunch at the hippo poolside picnic site. Ngorongoro Crater is famous for an amazing concentration of animals including the Big Five that can even be spotted on a single lucky day. Later in the afternoon before dark you will ascend up the Crater rim for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National park and Masai village /Olduvai Gorge visit (optional)
After breakfast you will start your transfer to Serengeti National Park from Ngorongoro and along the way you may visit a Masai Village or the archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge where the Leakey’s made discoveries of ancient fossils of Man that led to the Evolution theory before entering Serengeti. On arrival in the Serengeti you will have your picnic lunch as you continue with your afternoon wildlife viewing game drive in the park. Later in the evening you will check in at your Lodge dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park
Today is without question one of the highlights of your safari. After a rich breakfast you will start your adventure a little earlier than usual. During a full day game drive, you will experience the Serengeti in its full glory today!
The Serengeti is one of Africa’s most complex and intact ecosystems. Therefore, you can look forward to countless plant species like the characteristic umbrella acacias and millions of mammals like zebras, elephants and antelopes. The Serengeti is also home to the “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard). In the evening you will return to your Lodge where you will have a delicious dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Flight from Serengeti to Zanzibar Island
After breakfast you will check out of the lodge and drive to Seronera Airstrip or the closest airstrip to catch your flight to the Island of Zanzibar. On arrival at Zanzibar Airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight though you may decide to engage in an activity before checking in.
Day 6 – 7: Full day Zanzibar Beach
You will spend these two days at your beach hotel relaxing. You may choose from the various water sports and activities available or go for a sunset Dhow Cruise on one of the afternoons.
Day 8: End of safari holiday and departure.
Today depending on the schedule of your outbound flight, you will wake up at leisure ,enjoy your breakfast at Zanzibar Island hotel and relax in your room or beach line until its check out time. You will then be transferred to the Zanzibar Airport for your flight back home.
