23 Days Kenya Uganda and Tanzania safari Itinerary: 

Day 1 : Arrival and Transfer to Kibale forest National Park

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet and greet with your driver/guide from Engabi Tours and Travel who will transfer you from to Kibale Forest National park arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. When you arrive at the park, continue and go for a visit to the beautiful crater lakes area, you will also get a chance to see the terraced tea estates. Have dinner and an Overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

After your morning breakfast, your driver will lead you to Kanyanchu park headquarters for briefing from the senior park ranger. At 8:00 am you will join the rest of other trackers and transfer to the starting point which is 2 Km away from the park headquarters. Most often chimpanzee tracking goes for 3 to 4 hours. While in the forest you may interface with primates including the red tailed monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red Colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals include forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Later you will have lunch at your lodge before embarking on a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. Expect to see the Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek which can easily be sighted among the other many bird species. There is also an array of butterfly species. In the evening return to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

After breakfast you will take a 2 hours excursion to the Fort Portal crater Lakes. You can hike to the top of the worlds and take in spectacular views of rift valley and snowcapped Rwenzori Mountains. Later you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National park arriving in time for check in and lunch at the lodge. Later in the evening you will visit the twin Lakes for scenic views and picture moments. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

 Day 4 : Full day in Queen Elizabeth National Park (Morning Game drive and afternoon boat cruise)

Today you will go for an early morning game drive where you will be able spot different animals including elephants, buffaloes and lions among others. You will return for lunch in the afternoon and thereafter head out for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel.

Day 5 : Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

After breakfast you will be transferred to Bwindi forest National park via Ishasha where you will do a short game drive in search of tree climbing lions and thereafter continue to Bwindi arriving in time for check in at Four Gorillas Lodge.

Renowned as home to half of world’s mountains gorillas, Bwindi is famous gorilla tracking destination. Derived from the Rukiga word, “Bwindi” means a dark place; Bwindi rainforest has remained untouched since the last ice age 250, 000 million years ago. Dinner and overnight at Four Gorillas lodge.

 Day 6 : Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and evening village walk

You will get up so early in the morning for breakfast and thereafter your driver will drive you to the Park head offices with your packed lunch. On reaching there by 7:30am you will be briefed about what to do and not to do while trekking after which you will be led by the ranger guides through the mist jungle. Trekking usually takes between to 8 hours or even a full day due to the location of gorillas. When you see them, it will be a great and fun time as you watch them and only 1 hour is permitted to watch them. Also ensure you carry enough water with you, hats, sun glasses, rain coats, and non-flash cameras.  Later return to the lodge and in the afternoon you may go for a village walk in the communities especially the batwa communities. Visit the women’s craft center and return for dinner and overnight.

 Day 7 :Transfer to Entebbe/Kampala

After breakfast you will transfer to Entebbe/Kampala with a hot lunch en-route. Today you will also take your Covid 19 test in preparation for a transfer to Tanzania.  This journey will take approximately 6 hours and you will reach your lodge in Entebbe in time for check in, dinner and overnight.

 Day 8: Flight From Entebbe to Kilimanjaro International Airport

Today after breakfast and depending on the schedule of your flight, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport to catch your outbound flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. On arrival, you will meet with a representative of Engabi Tours and Travel who will transfer you to your place of Accommodation in Arusha where you can relax as you get ready for the upcoming days of the safari. Dinner and Overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation area

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area arriving in time for a game drive in the crater. You will descend down into the Ngorongoro Crater Rim for a game drive in the world’s largest unbroken Caldera where thousands of animals live. Here you will be able to see all the Big Five animals. Enjoy your Picnic lunch at the hippo pool and continue with the drive as you exit or ascend out of the crater for your transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 : Transfer to Serengeti and Afternoon game drive.

After breakfast, you will begin your drive to the Serengeti National Park with stops for photography and picnic lunch arriving in time for a game drive where you must look forward to witnessing large prides of lions, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe, buffalo and antelope as well as various species of birdlife and indigenous trees. Later in the evening you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti

Today is without question one of the highlights of your safari. After a rich breakfast you will start your adventure a little earlier than usual. During a full day game drive, you will experience the Serengeti in its full glory today! The Serengeti is one of Africa’s most complex and intact ecosystems. Therefore, you can look forward to countless plant species like the characteristic umbrella acacias and millions of mammals like zebras, elephants and antelopes. The Serengeti is also home to the “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard). In the evening you will return to Tanzania Luxury Bush camp where you will have a delicious dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

Today you will wake up to your breakfast and thereafter transfer to Lake Manyara National with game spotting opportunities en-route arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch time you will embark on an afternoon game drive in the park. The extraordinary birdlife and Tree climbing lions are but one of the lures. The place is world-renown amongst the ornithologists, who come to observe the masses of pink flamingos and great birds of prey. After game drive transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 13: Transfer to Tarangire National Park and evening game drive

After a big breakfast at leisure you will transfer to a very special national park called Tarangire National Park and do an evening game drive after check in and lunch. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. The park is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in the continent) which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river of the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, of course, elephants. The lunch area is fascinating, boasting an observatory with amazing views to the river and wildlife (with good chances of seeing a hunt while having your picnic). You will later return to your lodge for overnight and dinner.

Day 14: Morning game drive and afternoon relaxation at the Lodge.

Today after breakfast , head out for a morning game in the Tarangire which comes with a second opportunity to see variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes  and elephants among others. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 15: Transfer to Arusha

After breakfast, you will be driven to Arusha arriving in time for check-in to your hotel for overnight.

Day 16: Transfer to Amboseli national Park in Kenya.

 After breakfast you will be transferred to Namanga boarder point from where you will transfer to Amboseli National Park. Your Kenya Driver will pick you up from Namanga boarder post at the boarder of Kenya and Tanzania and you will head out in your private 4 x 4 Land cruiser to Amboseli national park. This is a relaxing drive through African savannah country with local homesteads punctuating the vast plain. The Savannah plains stretch to the horizon interrupted only by the iconic shape of Mount Kilimanjaro and the distinct flat-topped shape of acacia trees. Watch out for Masai herdsmen, draped in their colorful wraps as they tend to their flocks. You will arrive in Amboseli National Park in time for lunch. Later depart for an afternoon game drive of the park where you expect to see large herds of elephants, Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Zebras and Giraffes with spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro

Day 17: Full Day game drive in Amboseli National park

This will be a full day of game viewing drives. You will have plenty of time to soak up the wildlife and the magnificent scenery but as well have time for relaxation. There will be an early morning game drive which will be followed by a heavy breakfast and then later a mid-morning game drive. You will return to the lodge for a comfortable lunch and thereafter set out for an afternoon game drive. In between these game viewing sessions relax at the lodge and enjoy the scenery. Later in the evening return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 18: Transfer from Amboseli national park to Lake Naivasha

After Breakfast, you will transfer to  Lake Naivasha with a stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint for a scenic photo session arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch, you will head out for a boat ride on Lake Naivasha followed by a walking safari in the animal sanctuary where you get a one-on-one encounter with animals like giraffes and zebras. The animals are so close you can almost touch them! Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 19: Transfer to Hell’s Gate National Park and later to Lake Nakuru National Park 

After breakfast, you will head to Hell’s Gate National Park where you will have a chance to enjoy a cycling safari and hike to the famous gorges of the park. Named after the intense geothermal activity within its boundaries, Hell’s Gate National Park is a remarkable destination in the Great Rift Valley with spectacular scenery including towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub-clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam, making it one of the most spectacular parks in Africa. Later, you will head to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for a game drive in the park. The woodland and grassland surrounding the soda lake are home to an abundance of wildlife including black rhino, white rhino, hippo, leopard, lion and the rare Rothschild giraffe. Later in the evening, head to the lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 20: Transfer to Masai Mara Game Reserve

After an early breakfast, you will head to the world-famous Maasai Mara arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Later you will go for an afternoon game drive in the beautiful plains where you will spot quite a number of animals and learn a bit about the Mara and at sunset you will make your way back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 21: Full day in Masai Mara Game Reserve

Today you will have a game viewing extravaganza in the most exciting wildlife eco-system in the Natural world. The reserve hosts the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region. The scenic appeal of the tree studded savannah plains, the moderate climate and diversity of wild game species makes it a one stop shop for game viewing activities. You will traverse the Masai Mara reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the lesser game. You will enjoy your picnic lunch in the wild.

Day 22: Another Full Day in Masai Mara 

Today you will spend another full day with a picnic lunch exploring the Masai Mara and you will soon realize why this reserve is so highly regarded as the best reserve in Africa. Every year, millions of wildebeest, zebra, and Thomson’s gazelle pound their way across the savannas in an instinctual survival of the fittest. Another big draw card to the Masai Mara is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. Return to the lodge in evening for dinner and overnight. You have an option of  taking on a Balloon Safari over the Mara plains and visiting the Masai Village.

 Day 23: Transfer to Nairobi and Departure at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Nairobi where on arrival you will have lunch and continue to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your onward flight marking the end of the trip.

Instead of driving to Nairobi, you may choose to take a light aircraft to Wilson Airport from where you can be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta Airport.
