Gorilla Conservation Experience Uganda Rwanda

Gorilla conservation experience is key in the drive of preserving the Gorillas and other world primates living within the Conservation zones in Uganda and Rwanda. Engabi Tours and Travel Ltd is here to share with our prestigious clients the awesome Gorilla Safaris discovery trips into the real African Jungle to have a moment with Africa’s most prestigious Wildlife treasure. Some of our lucky tourists to have experience with our Gorilla conservation packages have seemed to want more and more of the Gorilla Trekking experience.

Gorilla Conservation Experience Uganda Rwanda

Gorilla conservation is an effort towards protection of the wildlife resources and Gorillas in particular. We have made it our company duty alongside other organizations such as Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), Gorilla Friends, Nature Uganda among others to see it that Gorilla and natural environment surrounding the Gorillas Habitats are kept in preserved and protected from any human destruction so as to ensure the future prosperity of the lives of Gorillas.

The Gorilla Conservation struggles have been done towards fighting different human activities that threaten Gorillas. Mountain gorillas are threatened not due to a demand for their meat or their infants, but due to a demand for the lush forest in which they live.

For the poverty-stricken communities living around the gorilla habitat,  it is the forest that provides them with many of their basic human needs, and in the war torn areas of DR Congo these needs are over harvested. This has greatly lead to the habitat loss which takes away the gorillas’ source of food and shelter leading to diminished territory to roam which affects breeding patterns.

Mountain gorillas are also at risk from poachers from the communities. While the poachers do not hunt gorillas, they do leave traps on the forest floor and the gorillas can get caught in these traps. Other conservation challenges include civil unrest, extractive industries (mining, logging, illegal charcoal trade) and lack of legal habitat protection.

Engabi Tours greatly advises its tourists to participate in the different Gorilla conservation awareness activities that it has been able create to be done by the different tourists while on a Gorilla Safari Trip to Africa, all intended with due purpose of preserving the Gorillas within their usual natural habitats. Our Volunteers on Gorilla trips have been able to experience lots of amazing fun filled activities while on a visit on our Gorilla Safaris destinations.

Volunteers will engage in a wide variety of activities as part of the project, involving themselves with the local community and supporting areas of conservation, tree planting, aiding in the education of the people living around the national parks and of course, taking part in a breathtaking (quite literally) trek to see the beautiful mountain Gorillas. Volunteers can expect to take part in the following:

  • Building and establishing a tree nursery bed for the community to raise indigenous trees and provide an income for the community school. Community tree planting to expand the coverage of forest and provide alternative sources of fuel, fodder, food and handicraft materials.
  • A trip to National park where you will go on a very fun filled Gorilla trekking adventure more so visit the Wildlife Clubs of Uganda primary and Secondary schools to see the children that have benefited from the Gorilla conservation as part of the donations goes to the development of Primary schools within the regions.
  • Have a trip to the Queen Elizabeth National Park where you can visit other primates too within the kyambura gorge. Have a boat cruise with scenic sight viewing experience around the Kazinga.
  • Game drives where spotted hyenas, hippos, leopards, and even rare tree-climbing lions can be seen in the Ishasha region of the Park.

Engabi Tours has been able to boost the struggle in creating awareness around the wildlife conservation zones with in Uganda as its creating conservation volunteering wildlife packages to its clients so as to create a platform whereby they too can activity participate in the wildlife conservation struggles of the National conservation zones with in East Africa.
