Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi forest national park

Your guide will meet and pick you from Kigali airport or your place of stay and embark on the 4 Hours transfer to Bwindi southwestern Uganda. Before you directly transfer to Bwindi, you may visit popular attractions in Kigali city such as Kigali genocide memorial and natural history museum if you depart from Kigali. The way leading to your lodge in Bwindi to Bwindi offers great view of breathtaking Virunga volcanoes and Kigezi highlands scenery. Accommodation in the lodge of your choice.

Day 2 : Gorilla Trekking and Transfer back to Kigali

The day for gorilla trekking begins early morning at 07am with breakfast at the lodge. Your guide leads you to the gorilla center where you are briefed about gorilla trekking king rules after which you begin hiking on foot in the forest searching for the gorillas. Trackers search in the forest for signs of gorillas until they locate and tell you where to find them. You will spend 1 hour observing and taking photos of gorillas. As well you can experience other wildlife such as birds that Bwindi has to offer on your return to the lodge. You will wave goodbye to Bwindi and transfer back to Kigali city to end your safari.

All visitors to Uganda and Rwanda must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages.  Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveler. To move between Uganda and Rwanda, we recommend that you acquire an East African Tourist Visa and this can be got from your first country of arrival

Language:

Luganda, English

Voltage:

In Uganda the standard voltage is 220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs.

Currency:

Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.

Clothing:

Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.

Baggage:

Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.

Water:

You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration. 

 Health;

East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards: Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray

Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

On your arrival at Kigali airport you will be met by your guide/driver. Your tour starts and you drive north to Ruhengeri. If you have time, en route you may have the chance to stop at Iby ‘Iwacu cultural village to learn about Rwanda traditions, customs and culture. From Iby’iwacu you will enter into the park to relax at your lodge. Diner and overnight at Da Vinci lodge/ Mountain gorilla view lodge/ Le Bambou gorilla lodge

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking experience and Transfer back to Kigali

Breakfast early morning and head to Kinigi visitor center where you gather and attend briefing from the guides. you will then go in search of gorillas that can be found feeding in the park. It often takes 1 or 3 hours of hiking to find gorillas depending on how they move. But once found, you are allowed to spend 1 hour taking photos. Following your gorilla tracking experience, you head back to the visitor center and embark on the transfer back to Kigali to connect to any other place of your interest.

The 1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Tour begins in the city of Kigali starting at 04:00 AM in the morning from where you set off with your driver from Kigali which takes 2 hours drive north to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda  home to mountain gorillas.

You will arrive at Kinigi, the park visitor center by 07:00 am on time for gorilla tracking. There will be a 30 minute briefing by Rwandan development board guides on gorilla rules and how to make proper preparations for hiking by wearing shoes, packing your water/lunch or hiring porters. Be aware that searching for gorillas in the forest can involve extreme hiking steep slopes. In case of longer treks that can take 3-5 hours while searching for gorillas, the guides will be flexible to make regular stops when you are tired. s

Venture through the forest trails looking for gorillas. You will get to see and photograph gorillas for a full hour which is enough for you to stare in the eyes of the gorillas. After the gorilla trekking experience, trek back out the forest to the park. And then return back to Kigali to mark the end of your one day Gorilla trekking Rwanda safari tour.
